THE THREE ERAS of TAQQARA

The Golden Age

This is a faintly remembered time.  One that is merely alluded to as a mythical glorified past, for the most part.  This is the time when the 6 gods awoke on the dead planet, created the elves, fairies and dwarves to help them restore the world, before conceiving the different races of humans through their divine coupling.  In this seemingly timeless age, the benevolent gods walk among the people in a paradise where all life is connected and in harmony.  There is only peace and plenty here, no toil or suffering.  But all this comes to a cataclysmic end when the daimons arrive and tempt humanity to experience more: The Fall of Mankind.

Few stories will be written in this era. 

The Era of Wickedness

In this time period, the world settles into new cyclic patterns of life, and there is constant struggle between the gods and the daimons, the different races, different societies, etc. …All just trying to toil through life to meet their needs, while tempted by the vices/sins introduced into this new way of living in greater physicality.  The different societies worship the different gods, either individually or collectively, as they see fit.  Elves, Fairies and Dwarves seem magical because they did not “Fall” and lose their connection to the gods like the humans did.

But then the daimons get out of hand and start to openly terrify humanity.  After a long and dreadful battle, a deal is made; Quoren goes to serve in the underworld to save humanity from this horror.  The evil races are born: vampires, dark elves, gnomes and trolls.  Great civilizations arise. Dark power reigns as good fights to survive, while the other gods fight the temptation of darkness themselves and many fail before the world experiences another cataclysmic change and much is destroyed or lost.

The Era of Our Lord

In this time period, the Golden Age is a myth and everything from The Fall to the Deluge is “forgotten”.  Nothing can truly be known about the time before; just tantalizing bits and pieces survive and people wonder what it was like, what it meant, etc.  Fairies, Elves, Dwarves and the dark races still exist, but mainly in different overlapping dimensions or hidden on Taqqara.  Maldek, the leader of the daimons, declares himself the One True God, and makes sure the people forget about everything that came before.  He commands that with the beginning of HIS worship, they reset back to year 0.  He says the world was vile and wicked before so he destroyed it, and will do it again if people don’t follow HIS rules for only HE can save them from eternal damnation.  Those who resist are persecuted.  Great new civilizations arise while our daimon-gods turn darker and more brutal until they are abandoned for the new god and are forgotten.  Late in this era, hope comes from the birth of a special man, but it too is short-lived, until the gods re-awaken, reunite and the final battle between good and evil ensues in the modern End Times.
